Guided Lure Fishing Workshops & Experiences

Whether you’re just getting started or looking to take your skills to the next level, I offer a range of guided bass fishing experiences from beginner to advanced, including full-day, multi-day, and night sessions — all on the beautiful South Wexford coast.

Each workshop is hands-on, focused, and tailored to the conditions on the day. You’ll gain confidence, sharpen your decision-making, and leave with skills that stick.

What You’ll Need to Bring:

Please come prepared for outdoor coastal fishing with the following:

  • Waders or waterproof footwear suitable for shore and rock marks

  • Weather-appropriate clothing – windproof and layered (we fish rain or shine)

  • Headlamp/torch (required for night sessions)

  • Snacks and water – no food provided

  • Towel and dry clothes (optional but recommended)

  • Your own rod, reel & lures (gear can be provided by prior arrangement)

If you’re unsure about tackle or need recommendations, feel free to reach out ahead of your booking.

Notes:

  • Sessions are tide and weather dependent; I’ll confirm the exact meet time and location closer to the date.

  • All anglers must be comfortable walking on uneven coastal terrain.

  • Minimum age: 18+, or 12+ if accompanied by an adult.

  • A valid Irish shore fishing license is not required for recreational bass angling.

Irish Bass Angling Laws & Regulations:

Bass fishing in Ireland is open all year round, but strict conservation laws apply to protect this iconic species. The following rules are set by the Irish government and apply to all recreational anglers.

Bag Limits & Size Limits
Bag limit: You may retain a maximum of two bass per angler per 24-hour period.
Minimum size: The minimum legal length is 42 cm — any fish below this must be released immediately.

Closed & Catch-and-Release Periods
January: Up to two bass may be kept per day (minimum 42 cm).
February – March: Catch-and-release only — no bass may be retained.
April – December: Up to two bass may be kept per day (minimum 42 cm).

Important Notes
• These laws apply to the European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax), a protected species in Irish waters.
Rod and line only are permitted — no nets, spears, or commercial fishing of any kind.
• Regulations may change — always check the official Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) website for the latest information.
• To report illegal activity, contact the IFI Confidential Hotline: 1890 34 74 24 (1890 FISH 24).

While these are the official laws, Irish Bass Guide proudly promotes catch, photo, and safe release to help sustain our wild bass stocks and ensure exceptional sport fishing for future generations.
